A treemap is a data visualization technique that displays large amounts of hierarchical (tree-structured) data. It divides the space into rectangles, with the size and order of the rectangles determined by a quantitative variable. Each level in the hierarchy is represented by a rectangle containing smaller rectangles, reflecting the nested structure of the data.
