What if your website could build and update itself using AI? That’s exactly what AI website builder Flint wants to make possible. The startup, co-founded by Michelle Lim and Max Levenson, has just emerged from stealth with $5 million in seed funding, backed by Sheryl Sandberg’s venture fund and Accel.
Flint’s vision is simple but bold: enable websites that continuously optimize, A/B test, and redesign themselves—without needing a design agency or engineering team to step in.
From frustration to innovation
Lim’s inspiration came from a real-world bottleneck. While leading growth marketing at Warp, she realized that website updates were painfully slow. Even minor changes required coordination between designers, developers, and content teams.
Meanwhile, AI chatbots like ChatGPT were changing how users discovered information. Customers were asking AI tools questions about Warp, but the website didn’t always have up-to-date answers.
That’s when Lim saw the opportunity: “Marketers can’t wait a month for design and development teams to build pages,” she said. “With AI engines, you need to move faster to capture demand.”
How Flint works
In its current form, it allows users to set parameters for what they want to build—then the platform’s AI automatically designs and codes the webpage. It can generate layouts, interactive elements, and track performance metrics like ad conversions or form submissions.
Lim says Flint can produce a fully functional web page in a single day, significantly cutting down the time it takes for teams to respond to market changes.
The startup’s long-term goal is to make websites that can:
- Run self-learning A/B tests
- Adapt content based on visitor behavior
- Create new pages dynamically when trends shift
- Write and optimize AI-generated copy
Although the platform’s content-writing feature is still in development, Flint is already working with early adopters like Windsurf, Modal, and Graphite, each using it to power live web pages.
Sheryl Sandberg’s bet on AI Website Builder Flint
One of Flint’s biggest endorsements comes from Sheryl Sandberg, Meta’s former COO, whose fund participated in the seed round. Lim described Sandberg as “someone who shaped how the internet monetized over the past decade.”
Sandberg immediately understood the challenge Flint was addressing. “It took 140 people at Meta to run one A/B test for a 10% ad conversion boost,” she reportedly told Lim—highlighting how Flint’s automation could revolutionize marketing workflows.
A new era for marketing and web design
With its AI-driven approach, AI website builder Flint could change how digital teams operate. Instead of months-long redesigns and endless testing cycles, marketers could soon deploy, test, and refine content autonomously—all powered by AI.
While it’s early days, Flint’s ambition is clear: make websites as dynamic and intelligent as the users who visit them.
