Spotify AI podcasts are becoming part of the company’s growing push into personalized audio experiences. Spotify announced that users can now create AI-generated personal podcasts and access them directly inside the Spotify app using a new beta CLI tool.
The feature works with AI coding agents such as OpenAI Codex, Claude AI Code, and OpenClaw Github, allowing users to generate audio sessions based on their own prompts and materials.
According to Spotify, users are increasingly relying on AI agents to create personalized audio experiences tied to their schedules, notes, and daily information.
Spotify AI Podcasts Focus on Personalized Listening
In a blog post, Spotify explained that people are already using AI agents to create personal audio experiences for everyday tasks.
The company said users are generating summaries of class notes before exams, calendar briefings, and other customized audio content — and want a way to listen to it directly on Spotify alongside their regular music and podcasts.
The newly introduced CLI tool allows users to generate these AI podcasts and automatically import them into their Spotify libraries for later listening.
However, Spotify noted that these podcasts remain private and are not visible to other Spotify users.
How the Spotify AI Podcasts Feature Works
To use the feature, Spotify said users need to access the tool through its GitHub page and follow the setup instructions.
Users are prompted to sign in to their Spotify accounts through a browser before connecting the AI-generated content workflow.
Once connected, users can write prompts asking the AI agent to create detailed podcast-style audio sessions.
Spotify provided an example prompt asking the agent to generate an audio session covering the history of the World Cup, including important players, tournament locations, and details about current games.
After generating the content, users receive a Spotify listing link for the personalized podcast.
Spotify Continues Expanding AI Audio Features
The Spotify AI podcasts initiative reflects a broader trend in AI-generated audio experiences.
Over the past few years, tools like NotebookLM, Hero, and Adobe Acrobat have introduced podcast-style audio generation based on documents, schedules, and written materials.
Spotify’s latest move positions the streaming platform as a destination where users can not only stream existing content but also consume AI-generated personal audio created specifically for them.
