Gemini CLI extensions are integrations that bring tools like Figma, Stripe, Postman, Shopify, and more into the Gemini CLI environment. Each extension includes a built-in “playbook” that teaches the AI how to use the new tools effectively, letting developers get meaningful results from the first command without complex setup.

Unlike some other platforms, Google’s Gemini CLI extensions promote an open ecosystem where anyone can build, publish, and share extensions via GitHub repositories. This approach fosters innovation and flexibility for developers to tailor AI assistance to their unique workflows.

At launch, Gemini CLI offers powerful Google-created extensions such as Cloud Run deployment, Google Kubernetes Engine management, Firebase backend setup, code security reviews, and Chrome debugging tools.
