OpenAI Infosys AI Partnership Expands Enterprise Adoption With Codex Integration

OpenAI Infosys AI partnership is taking a major step toward scaling enterprise AI adoption, as the two companies join forces to integrate advanced tools into business workflows.

OpenAI has partnered with Infosys to embed its artificial intelligence technologies, including the coding assistant Codex, into the company’s Topaz AI platform. The goal is straightforward: help enterprises move faster from experimentation to real-world AI deployment.

OpenAI Infosys AI Partnership Focuses on Enterprise Transformation

At the core of the OpenAI Infosys AI partnership is a push to modernize how businesses build and manage software. Infosys said the integration will initially focus on software engineering, legacy modernization, and DevOps.

By combining OpenAI’s capabilities with Infosys’ enterprise delivery model, companies can automate workflows and deploy AI systems at scale. The move reflects growing demand for practical AI use cases that go beyond pilots and into production environments.

Rising Pressure on IT Services Firms

The timing of the OpenAI Infosys AI partnership is notable. India’s IT services sector is currently facing pressure from slowing client spending and rapid advances in generative AI.

Infosys shares have dropped more than 22% this year, amid broader concerns about automation replacing traditional outsourcing work and macroeconomic uncertainty linked to the U.S.-Iran conflict. This environment is pushing firms to accelerate their AI strategies and demonstrate value to clients.

AI Alliances Are Becoming the New Distribution Model

The collaboration also highlights a broader industry shift. AI companies are increasingly partnering with global IT service providers to expand their reach into large enterprises.

OpenAI has already worked with HCLTech, while Infosys has partnered with Anthropic on similar initiatives. These alliances allow AI providers to tap into established client networks and deployment expertise.

Through Infosys, OpenAI gains access to a global enterprise base spanning more than 60 countries, creating a powerful distribution channel for its tools.

Infosys Expands Its AI Business

Infosys has been steadily growing its AI offerings. Earlier this year, the company reported that AI-related services generated ₹25 billion (around $267 million) in revenue in the December quarter, accounting for approximately 5.5% of its total revenue.

The OpenAI Infosys AI partnership builds on that momentum, positioning the company to scale its AI services further.

Codex and Enterprise Deployment Push

The deal also aligns with OpenAI’s broader enterprise strategy. Through initiatives like Codex Labs, announced recently, the company is working closely with partners to help deploy its tools in real-world environments.

Initial collaborators include major consulting and IT firms such as Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, PwC, and Tata Consultancy Services.

OpenAI said Codex already has more than 4 million weekly active users, underscoring growing demand for AI-powered development tools.
