SpaceX AI Enterprise Strategy Targets Trillion-Dollar Market Beyond Space

SpaceX AI Enterprise Strategy is emerging as a major theme ahead of the company’s expected IPO, with new filings indicating Elon Musk’s company sees artificial intelligence as a far larger opportunity than rockets or satellites.

According to an S-1 filing reviewed by Reuters, SpaceX estimates its total addressable market could reach $28.5 trillion. More than 90% of that figure, or $26.5 trillion, is tied to AI, with $22.7 trillion linked specifically to enterprise AI opportunities.

SpaceX AI Enterprise Strategy Focuses on Business Customers

The filing suggests SpaceX believes its biggest future opportunity lies in selling AI tools to businesses rather than relying solely on launch services or satellite connectivity.

The company reportedly stated it had identified the largest actionable total addressable market in history. While total addressable market figures are not forecasts, they are often used by investors to evaluate long-term growth potential.

This shift places SpaceX in direct competition with current enterprise AI leaders such as OpenAI and Anthropic.

IPO Plans Add to Investor Interest

SpaceX is moving toward a public offering expected this summer, according to the report.

The company is reportedly targeting a valuation of around $1.75 trillion and aims to raise approximately $75 billion, which would make it the largest IPO in history.

That makes the SpaceX AI Enterprise Strategy especially important, since future investors will likely assess how realistic its AI ambitions are alongside its established businesses.

xAI Losses Show the Cost of Expansion

The filing also offered a look at xAI, which SpaceX acquired in February.

According to the report, xAI posted an operating loss of $6.4 billion in 2025, compared with a $1.6 billion loss a year earlier. Those losses exceeded the $4.4 billion operating profit generated by Starlink, SpaceX’s largest revenue source. Overall, SpaceX reportedly lost $4.9 billion.

The numbers underline how expensive large-scale AI development has become.

Spending Heavily on Compute and Talent

SpaceX’s total capital expenditures reportedly rose to $20.7 billion in 2025, with $12.7 billion of that tied to AI.

The company also said it plans to invest in technologies such as GPU manufacturing, build a specialized salesforce, and deploy forward engineers to work directly with customers adopting AI tools.

That signals a hands-on approach to winning enterprise clients.

Bigger Than Space?

The SpaceX AI Enterprise Strategy marks a notable evolution for a company known for launch systems and satellite internet.

If successful, SpaceX could become a major force in business AI. If not, investors may question whether the valuation reflects proven operations or future ambitions. Either way, the company is clearly pitching itself as much more than a space business.
