Spotify AI DJ Expands With French, German, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese Support

Spotify AI DJ is getting a major international expansion. On Thursday, Spotify announced that its interactive AI-powered DJ feature now supports four additional languages: French, German, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese.

Until now, the Spotify AI DJ feature had only been available in English and Spanish. The company said each language version comes with its own personality and name, including Maia, Ben, Alex, and Dani.

Spotify AI DJ Expands to More Countries

Alongside the language expansion, Spotify is also rolling out the feature to several additional markets.

According to the company, Spotify AI DJ is now launching in Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, and Switzerland. With the latest rollout, the feature is now available in more than 75 countries.

The expansion marks another step in Spotify’s broader push to make AI-powered music discovery more accessible to global audiences.

How Spotify AI DJ Has Evolved

Spotify first introduced the AI DJ as a feature that combined spoken commentary with personalized music recommendations.

In its earlier version, the tool mainly offered AI-generated commentary between tracks while selecting songs users were likely to enjoy. Over time, however, Spotify has gradually made the feature more interactive.

In May 2025, the company updated Spotify AI DJ to support conversational interactions, allowing users to chat with the assistant and request changes to music genres, moods, or listening styles.

Spotify also added the ability for users to directly prompt the AI DJ to play specific tracks, bringing the experience closer to conversational AI systems like ChatGPT, Claude AI, and Gemini AI.

Spotify Continues Adding More AI Features

The Spotify AI DJ rollout comes as the company continues expanding AI functionality across its platform.

Spotify has also introduced features that allow users to create custom playlists for songs or podcasts simply by describing what they want to hear.

The company’s growing AI feature set reflects the wider trend of streaming platforms using conversational AI tools to personalize user experiences and improve music discovery.
