AI legaltech startup Supio has secured a staggering $60 million in Series B funding, marking a significant milestone in the rapidly growing AI-driven legal automation sector. This latest round was led by Sapphire Ventures, with backing from Mayfield and Thomson Reuters Ventures, bringing Supio’s total funding to $91 million.

The funding will propel the startup’s aggressive expansion strategy, with plans to double its 100-person workforce, scale operations from its Seattle headquarters, and open a new regional office. According to co-founder and CEO Jerry Zhou, the capital will also fuel go-to-market efforts and bolster product innovation.

Supio, a trailblazing AI legaltech startup, is capitalizing on a massive shift in the legal sector. As law firms face mounting pressure to modernize, AI adoption is skyrocketing—from 11% in 2023 to 30% in 2024, per industry data. Supio’s platform leverages AI to automate data extraction, case review, and legal analysis, particularly for personal injury law.

“Attorneys and paralegals spend countless hours combing through medical records, police reports, and expert opinions,” said Zhou. “Supio empowers them with instant, deep insights into complex, unstructured data.”

Built to integrate directly with a firm’s existing file systems, Supio’s AI platform promises increased accuracy with “human verification” baked into its workflow. The solution already supports over 114 case types and is evolving with continuous client collaboration.

Legal Industry’s AI Inflection Point

“AI is doing for legal knowledge work what Excel did for finance,” Zhou noted. “The legal profession is at a critical turning point where traditional practices must evolve or be left behind.”

Supio has seen exponential growth in 2024, boasting a 4x increase in annual recurring revenue and a rapidly expanding client base. Prominent law firms such as Hughes & Coleman, Daniel Stark, and Thomas Law Offices are among its clientele.

To sustain this momentum, the startup recently appointed new leaders across sales, marketing, and customer success, signaling its commitment to long-term growth and customer satisfaction.

With AI adoption accelerating and legaltech innovation gaining traction, Supio stands out as a front-runner in the transformation of legal operations through intelligent automation.
