Google is taking another step toward turning Search into your personal assistant. On Tuesday, the tech giant unveiled new Google AI Mode agentic capabilities that allow users to book event tickets and beauty appointments directly from Search — without visiting multiple websites.
The new update marks another leap in Google’s goal to make AI Mode not just informational, but actionable — helping users complete tasks like a digital concierge.
Book Event Tickets and Beauty Appointments with AI
Thanks to the new Google AI Mode agentic capabilities, users can now say things like:
“Find me two cheap tickets for the Shaboozey concert coming up. Prefer standing floor tickets.”
The AI will then scan ticketing platforms in real-time, curate a list of relevant options, and link you directly to booking pages for an easy checkout.
Similarly, the AI can now handle beauty and wellness appointments — from haircuts and spa sessions to manicures — by automatically searching local listings, comparing availability, and helping you secure a time slot.
It’s a small but significant addition to what Google calls “agentic behavior” — when AI doesn’t just find information, but takes action on your behalf.
A Growing List of AI-Powered Actions
These new Google AI Mode agentic capabilities build upon the foundation Google laid earlier this year. Back in August, the company added restaurant reservation features, allowing users to make dining plans through conversational prompts.
For example, you could ask:
“Find a dinner reservation for three people this Friday after 6 p.m. around Logan Square. Craving ramen or bibimbap.”
AI Mode then searched across multiple booking platforms, found real-time options, and displayed the best matches. Now, that same proactive approach extends beyond dining — into events, wellness, and entertainment.
Who Can Use the New Agentic Capabilities
The new Google AI Mode agentic capabilities are currently available to users enrolled in Search Labs in the United States. Users subscribed to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra plans can also enjoy higher usage limits and faster response times.
Google said that while AI Mode continues to evolve, the system still relies on its core quality and safety standards to prevent misinformation or errors. The company also reminds users that AI Mode is still in its “early experiment” phase and may not always get everything right.
A Broader Vision for AI-Powered Search
Originally launched in March, Google AI Mode was designed to help users ask complex, multi-step questions and receive conversational answers directly in Search. It serves as Google’s answer to OpenAI’s ChatGPT Search and Perplexity AI — offering similar capabilities but within Google’s massive search ecosystem.
Since its debut, AI Mode has rolled out to over 180 countries, gaining new features along the way. Among them:
- Canvas Mode, which helps users organize research or study plans in a side panel.
- Google Lens Integration allowing users to ask questions about what’s visible on their desktop screen.
Now, with the introduction of Google AI Mode agentic capabilities, the company is clearly moving toward a more hands-on, autonomous version of Search — one that goes beyond answers to actions.
The Future of Agentic Search
Google’s move into “agentic AI” signals a new era for how people use search engines. Instead of manually clicking through results, users can rely on AI-powered agents to complete complex workflows — from booking tickets to making plans — in seconds.
As Google continues to roll out the Google AI Mode agentic capabilities worldwide, the line between a search engine and a personal AI assistant is rapidly disappearing.
The future of Search isn’t just about finding information — it’s about getting things done.
