Google is widening access to its innovative AI vibe-coding app Opal, allowing creators in 15 new countries to build web applications using just text prompts. The expansion makes Opal available in regions such as Canada, India, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Brazil, Singapore, Colombia, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panamá, Honduras, Argentina, and Pakistan.
Megan Li, Senior Product Manager at Google Labs, revealed in a company blog post that user creativity has far exceeded expectations.
“When we opened up Opal to U.S. users, we expected simple, fun projects. Instead, we saw an explosion of creative, practical, and even professional tools built using Opal,” Li said. “It was clear we needed to make Opal available to more global creators.”
The AI vibe-coding app Opal enables users to generate functional web apps by simply describing what they want to build. Google’s AI models handle the code generation, allowing users to then fine-tune designs through an intuitive visual editor. The editor displays the app’s entire workflow—inputs, outputs, and generation steps—so users can modify prompts, add new elements, or publish the finished app to the web with a shareable link.
Alongside the global rollout, Google has also introduced performance and usability upgrades. The company improved Opal’s debugging system—still maintaining a no-code environment—so users can now run workflows step by step and instantly see where errors occur.
Additionally, Google has optimized the app’s speed. Creating a new Opal now takes just seconds, compared to five or more previously. The latest update also introduces parallel step execution, enabling complex workflows to run multiple actions simultaneously for faster and smoother app generation.
With its U.S. debut in July, Opal positioned Google among a growing list of AI design tools like Canva, Figma, and Replit, all competing to make app creation more accessible to non-developers. By expanding Opal globally, Google aims to nurture a new wave of innovation and empower creators everywhere to turn their ideas into interactive web experiences—no coding required.
