Google Expands Gemini in Chrome to 7 More Countries, Bringing AI Features to More Users

Google is widening access to Gemini in Chrome, announcing a fresh expansion into seven additional markets. The rollout marks another step in the company’s push to bring AI directly into everyday browsing experiences.

The newly supported countries are Australia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam. According to the announcement, the feature is launching on desktop and iOS across these markets, with Japan currently receiving desktop support only.

Gemini in Chrome Reaches More Global Users

Google first introduced Gemini in Chrome to users in the United States earlier this year. In March, availability expanded to India, Canada, and New Zealand. With this latest move, the browser-based AI assistant is now reaching even more users globally.

The company has been steadily adding more AI-powered capabilities into Google Chrome since last year, including a floating interface designed to make assistance easier while browsing.

What Users Can Do With Gemini in Chrome

Through the sidebar assistant, users can ask questions across tabs and access the Personal Intelligence feature of Gemini. This allows connections with services such as Gmail and Google Photos to deliver more personalized responses.

Users can also complete tasks directly inside Chrome, including:

  • Scheduling meetings with Calendar
  • Checking location details with Maps
  • Drafting and sending emails with Gmail

Google has also added image transformation tools through Nano Banana 2 inside the sidebar.

Agentic Browser Control Still in Testing

While the broader rollout expands access to core AI tools, Google’s more advanced agentic feature remains limited. The company said the capability, which can control browser windows and complete tasks on a user’s behalf, is still being tested.

At the moment, it is only available in the United States for users subscribed to AI Pro and AI Ultra paid plans.

Why This Expansion Matters

Google’s continued rollout shows how quickly AI is becoming part of the browsing experience rather than a separate tool. Instead of switching between apps and tabs, users can increasingly complete tasks directly inside Chrome.

That shift could make web browsing faster, more personalized, and more productive for users in newly supported regions.
