Introduced during Microsoft’s Copilot Fall Release event, Mico is designed to make artificial intelligence feel more personal, relatable, and emotionally intelligent.
A Warm and Expressive AI Avatar
Microsoft describes Mico (a play on Microsoft Copilot) as a “warm, customizable presence” that listens, reacts, and even changes color based on user interaction. Mico’s fluid expressions and subtle reactions give users the impression of a more human-like conversation with their AI assistant — a clear step toward blending emotion with utility.
And yes, if you tap Mico several times, you’ll unlock an Easter egg that transforms the character into Clippy, the beloved (and sometimes mocked) paperclip assistant from the early 2000s.
