The announcement that Nvidia Deepens India AI Startup Ecosystem signals the chipmaker’s growing commitment to one of the world’s fastest-expanding artificial intelligence markets. The company is strengthening its presence in India by building relationships with AI startups at their earliest stages, aiming to cultivate future customers and accelerate AI innovation.
The move highlights India’s strategic importance in the global AI race, as the country continues to emerge as a major hub for developers, founders, and technical talent.
Nvidia Deepens India AI Startup Ecosystem Through Early-Stage Partnerships
As Nvidia deepens India AI startup ecosystem engagement, the company has partnered with early-stage venture firm Activate. The firm plans to support around 25 to 30 AI startups through its $75 million debut fund, offering portfolio companies preferential access to Nvidia’s technical expertise.
The collaboration is designed to connect Nvidia with founders even before their companies are formally established. By engaging at the inception stage, the company aims to position its computing infrastructure as a core technology choice as startups scale.
The initiative follows other India-focused efforts, including partnerships with nonprofit AI Grants India and new relationships with venture firms focused on the South Asian market.
India Emerges as a Strategic AI Developer Market
The decision to deepen India AI startup ecosystem ties comes as India hosts its AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, attracting global technology companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was scheduled to attend the event but was unable to participate due to unforeseen circumstances. A senior delegation led by executive vice president Jay Puri represented the company, meeting with AI researchers, developers, and startup founders.
India’s rapidly growing AI developer base and startup activity make it an increasingly critical market for Nvidia as it expands adoption of its chips and computing software.
Early Founder Engagement Drives Long-Term Demand
Aakrit Vaish, founder of Activate, said Nvidia’s involvement with Indian startups has historically been less intensive compared to its U.S. engagement, but the company is now seeking earlier collaboration with founders.
Activate focuses on “inception investing,” working with technical teams months before company formation and supporting them through early development stages. Its backers include venture capitalist Vinod Khosla, Perplexity co-founder Aravind Srinivas, Peak XV managing director Shailendra Singh, and Paytm CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma.
For Nvidia, early relationships with promising AI startups help secure long-term demand, as growing companies typically require increasing amounts of computing power and infrastructure.
Expanding India’s AI Innovation Network
Nvidia already supports more than 4,000 startups in India through its global Inception program. As Nvidia deepens India AI startup ecosystem investments, it is expanding local partnerships with venture firms including Accel, Peak XV, Z47, Elevation Capital, and Nexus Venture Partners.
The company has also partnered with AI Grants India to support over 10,000 early-stage founders in the next year. The organization was co-founded by Vaibhav Domkundwar and Bhasker Kode.
Additionally, Nvidia joined the India Deep Tech Alliance in November 2025, collaborating with investors such as Blume Ventures, Premji Invest, and Celesta Capital to provide strategic and technical guidance to emerging startups.
Rising Competition for India’s AI Talent
Nvidia’s expanded efforts reflect intensifying competition among global technology companies to attract AI developers and startups in India. The country has become one of the fastest-growing pools of technical talent outside the United States.
By offering engineering expertise and infrastructure access to early-stage teams, Nvidia aims to strengthen its leadership position in a market that is shaping the future of artificial intelligence innovation.
