ServiceNow Anthropic Partnership Signals Enterprise AI’s Shift to Multi-Model Workflows

The ServiceNow Anthropic partnership is reshaping how enterprises deploy AI—at scale, with flexibility, and without locking into a single model.

Just days after announcing a collaboration with OpenAI, enterprise workflow giant ServiceNow has inked another major AI deal—this time with Anthropic. The multi-year agreement deepens Claude’s role across ServiceNow’s platform and reinforces the company’s belief that the future of enterprise AI is multi-model, not winner-takes-all.

While ServiceNow declined to disclose the financial terms or length of the deal, the strategic intent is clear: Anthropic’s Claude model family is now the preferred AI engine across ServiceNow’s AI-powered workflow products.

Claude Becomes Core to ServiceNow’s AI Stack

Under the ServiceNow Anthropic partnership, Claude is now the default model powering ServiceNow Build Agent, the company’s AI agent builder that enables developers to create agentic workflows and AI-driven applications with minimal friction.

The rollout doesn’t stop with customers. Claude is also being deployed internally to ServiceNow’s 29,000 employees, with engineers gaining access to Claude Code, Anthropic’s fast-growing “vibe-coding” tool designed to accelerate software development.

“ServiceNow with Anthropic is turning intelligence into action through AI-native workflows for the world’s largest enterprises,” said Bill McDermott, Chairman and CEO of ServiceNow. “This partnership proves that open ecosystems—not closed stacks—are how the future of enterprise AI is built.”

Why ServiceNow Is Betting on Multiple AI Models

The ServiceNow Anthropic partnership follows closely on the heels of a separate agreement with OpenAI, raising obvious questions: Why partner with competitors?

According to ServiceNow President and COO Amit Zavery, that’s exactly the point.

“Enterprise customers want model choice,” Zavery explained. “They want the right model for the right job—while maintaining consistent governance, security, and auditability on the ServiceNow AI Platform.”

Rather than forcing customers into a single AI vendor, ServiceNow is positioning itself as the orchestrator—allowing enterprises to mix and match models like Claude and GPT based on use case, performance, and compliance needs.

Anthropic’s Enterprise Momentum Keeps Building

For Anthropic, the ServiceNow Anthropic partnership is another major win in a string of enterprise deals. In recent months, the AI lab has announced partnerships with Allianz, Accenture, IBM, Deloitte, Snowflake, and other global heavyweights.

This surge comes as enterprises continue to experiment with AI while struggling to clearly measure ROI. Still, many investors believe that 2026 will be the breakout year when AI finally delivers consistent, bottom-line impact—despite similar predictions made in previous years.

The Bigger Picture

What makes the ServiceNow Anthropic partnership especially significant is what it says about enterprise AI strategy going forward. Companies aren’t just buying models anymore—they’re investing in AI-native workflows, agent-based automation, and platforms that can evolve as the model landscape shifts.

In that sense, ServiceNow isn’t choosing sides in the AI race. It’s building the road that all the models will eventually have to travel.
