YouTube’s long-promised cleanup of YouTube AI slop appears to be underway — and some of the platform’s biggest offenders are already gone.
Several massively popular AI-generated content channels have quietly disappeared from YouTube, according to a new report from Kapwing. One of the most notable removals is CuentosFacianantes (Fascinating Tales), which had more than 5.9 million subscribers and over 1.2 billion total views before being taken down.
In Kapwing’s November 2025 analysis, the channel was ranked as the largest YouTube AI slop channel, pumping out low-effort, AI-generated Dragon Ball–style videos at an industrial scale. Its disappearance signals a potential shift in how aggressively YouTube is enforcing its content quality standards.
Another major casualty is Imperio de Jesus (Empire of Jesus), a channel with 5.8 million subscribers that relied heavily on AI-generated quizzes and faith-based visuals. The channel is now unavailable, with no public explanation from YouTube.
YouTube Signals a Policy Shift on AI Slop
The timing is notable. Just weeks ago, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan publicly acknowledged the growing problem of YouTube AI slop, promising to “reduce the spread of low-quality AI content” across the platform.
According to Mohan, YouTube is expanding its existing systems used to fight spam, clickbait, and inauthentic behavior — now applying them more aggressively to AI-generated videos that offer little originality or value.
Kapwing’s report found that 16 additional AI slop channels with millions of combined subscribers have either been deleted or stripped of all their videos. These include Héroes de Fantasía, Adhamali-0, and Roupa25. Another channel, Super Cat League, still exists but has removed all content.
Its channel description summed up the AI slop era perfectly:
“Welcome to [Insert Channel Name] – The World’s #1 AI Cat Cinema! 🐾✨In 2026, we are redefining digital storytelling. We merge the cuteness of cats with the power of Advanced Generative AI to create hyper-realistic, emotional, and viral adventures you’ve never seen before. From heartbreaking “Poor to Rich” sagas to epic feline hero journeys, our channel is where cutting-edge technology meets the soul of a cat.”
Despite attracting millions of viewers, these channels relied almost entirely on automated content pipelines — a hallmark of YouTube AI slop.
Still No Transparency From YouTube
What remains unclear is whether YouTube directly removed these channels or if creators deleted them preemptively. YouTube has not publicly confirmed enforcement actions, and requests for comment have so far gone unanswered.
This lack of transparency mirrors earlier crackdowns. Last year, YouTube removed channels producing fake AI-generated movie trailers and announced broader efforts to limit “inauthentic content.”
At the same time, YouTube continues to promote AI tools for creators, encouraging the use of AI clips in Shorts and even allowing creators to generate AI likenesses — drawing a blurry line between acceptable AI creativity and YouTube AI slop.
A Turning Point for AI Content on YouTube
The quiet disappearance of these massive channels suggests YouTube may finally be enforcing quality thresholds — not banning AI outright, but targeting mass-produced, low-effort content designed solely to game the algorithm.
If this trend continues, creators relying on AI shortcuts without originality may find their reach — or their entire channels — suddenly gone.
