YouTube Introduces AI Tools to Enhance Shorts with Faster Video Generation and Creative Features

YouTube introduces AI tools to enhance Shorts, giving creators faster video generation, creative effects, and simplified editing workflows.

At the ‘Made on YouTube’ live event on Tuesday, the company unveiled a series of AI-powered features designed to boost creativity and speed on the Shorts platform. The update combines Google’s Veo 3 video model, new remixing tools, and an Edit with AI feature aimed at helping creators produce high-quality content quickly.

The centerpiece of the update is Veo 3 Fast, a customized version of Google’s Veo 3 system. This upgrade delivers 480p video clips at lower latency and, for the first time, allows creators to generate videos with sound.

The rollout begins in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, with more regions to follow soon.

Creative Tools for Motion Transfer and Artistic Styles

YouTube is introducing a motion transfer feature, enabling creators to animate still images using motion from existing videos. For example, a static portrait can now be transformed into a dancing character.

Additionally, Veo 3 allows users to apply artistic effects like pop art or origami-inspired visuals and generate props or background elements from text prompts. These features will roll out gradually in the coming months.

Speech-to-Song Remixing with Lyria 2

Another highlight is Speech to Song, which converts dialogue from eligible videos into soundtracks using Google’s Lyria 2 music model.

Creators can adjust the output by choosing moods such as “chill,” “danceable,” or “fun.” The feature will first launch in the U.S., followed by other regions soon after.

Edit with AI for Streamlined Video Production

YouTube also revealed Edit with AI, a tool designed to simplify editing for Shorts and the YouTube Create app.

The feature can:

  • Select the best moments from raw footage
  • Add transitions and music automatically

Currently supporting English and Hindi, the feature will expand to more languages and regions in the coming weeks.

AI-Powered Future for YouTube Shorts

By launching these new features, YouTube introduces AI tools to enhance Shorts and make content creation faster, more engaging, and more accessible for creators across the globe.

As AI continues to reshape the digital content landscape, YouTube’s latest update puts generative AI tools directly into the hands of millions of users, unlocking new possibilities for storytelling and creativity.
