Indian IT services giant Infosys has announced a major collaboration with AI company Anthropic, marking a significant step forward as Infosys partners with Anthropic to develop advanced enterprise AI agents for global industries. The partnership reflects the growing influence of large language models in reshaping enterprise automation and the broader IT services sector.
The alliance, unveiled at the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, will see Infosys integrate Anthropic’s Claude models into its Topaz AI platform to create intelligent systems capable of managing complex business workflows across multiple industries.
Infosys Partners With Anthropic to Develop Enterprise AI Agents
As Infosys partners with Anthropic, the companies aim to build enterprise AI agents that can autonomously handle sophisticated enterprise processes in sectors such as banking, telecommunications, and manufacturing.
These agentic systems are designed to streamline operations, improve productivity, and automate complex workflows traditionally handled by human teams. By combining Infosys’ industry expertise with Anthropic’s AI capabilities, the collaboration seeks to deliver scalable solutions for large organizations operating in regulated environments.
The partnership gives Infosys access to Anthropic’s Claude models and developer tools, including Claude Code, which assists with writing, testing, and debugging software. Infosys has already started deploying these tools internally to build technical capabilities before extending them to enterprise clients.
Transforming the Global IT Services Industry
The announcement that Infosys partners with Anthropic comes amid growing industry concerns about how enterprise AI agents could reshape India’s $280 billion IT services sector. Automation powered by large AI models is raising questions about the future of labor-intensive outsourcing business models.
Earlier this month, shares of several Indian IT companies declined after Anthropic introduced enterprise AI tools capable of automating tasks across legal, sales, marketing, and research functions. The development intensified discussions about the long-term impact of AI on the workforce.
Infosys also highlighted the growing contribution of AI to its business. The company reported that AI-related services generated ₹25 billion (around $275 million), accounting for 5.5% of its total revenue of ₹454.8 billion in the December quarter.
Bridging AI Innovation and Regulated Industries
For Anthropic, the collaboration provides a pathway to expand the adoption of enterprise AI agents in heavily regulated sectors where compliance and governance requirements are critical.
Anthropic co-founder and CEO Dario Amodei noted that there is a significant difference between AI models that work in demonstrations and those that function reliably in regulated enterprise environments. Infosys’ experience across financial services, telecom, and manufacturing helps bridge that gap by enabling practical, real-world deployment.
Anthropic Expands Its Presence in India
The move comes as Anthropic strengthens its presence in India, which has become the company’s second-largest market. The company recently opened its first India office in Bengaluru to support growing demand for its AI solutions.
India currently accounts for about 6% of global Claude usage, with a large share of activity focused on programming and development tasks. The expansion underscores the importance of the Indian market in Anthropic’s global growth strategy.
While the companies did not disclose financial details or a timeline for deployment, the announcement that Infosys partners with Anthropic reflects a broader trend of Indian IT firms adopting advanced AI technologies. Similar initiatives include HCLTech’s partnership with OpenAI to help enterprises deploy AI tools at scale.
