Salesforce has introduced Agentforce 360, the latest evolution of its AI agent platform, signaling a bold move in the intensifying enterprise AI market. The announcement comes ahead of Salesforce’s annual Dreamforce conference, which starts October 14.
The upgraded platform promises new ways to instruct AI agents using text, a unified interface to build and deploy agents, and expanded Slack integration to streamline enterprise workflows.
A standout feature is Agent Script, a new AI prompting tool launching in beta this November. It enables users to program AI agents to handle “if/then” scenarios more predictably, offering flexible responses to customer queries. The platform also supports “reasoning” models powered by Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google Gemini, designed to analyze context before generating responses.
Agentforce Builder is another key update, allowing enterprises to create, test, and deploy AI agents from a single interface. This includes Agentforce Vibes, an enterprise-grade coding tool for app “vibes,” announced earlier this month.
The platform’s Slack integration aims to transform the messaging app into an AI-driven enterprise hub. Salesforce plans for Agentforce apps, including Sales, IT, and HR tools, to be fully accessible in Slack by early 2026. Slack is piloting a new AI-powered Slackbot that learns user preferences and offers tailored insights. Future integrations will expand to Gmail, Outlook, and Dropbox.
Enterprise AI Market Heating Up
Salesforce’s launch occurs amid growing enterprise AI competition. Google recently unveiled Gemini Enterprise, targeting AI agent deployment for clients like Figma, Klarna, and Virgin Voyages. Anthropic’s Claude Enterprise is also gaining traction, securing a deal with Deloitte to provide AI tools for 500,000 employees, alongside a strategic partnership with IBM.
Salesforce reports 12,000 Agentforce customers, surpassing competitors. Early pilot customers testing Agentforce 360 upgrades include Lennar, Adecco, and Pearson.
Despite enthusiasm, enterprise AI adoption remains challenging. A recent MIT study found that 95% of AI pilots fail to reach production, highlighting the difficulty companies face in realizing tangible ROI from AI investments.
Salesforce’s Agentforce 360 aims to address these hurdles by combining advanced AI reasoning, enterprise-grade integration, and flexible agent programming—positioning it as a leading choice for organizations looking to harness AI across sales, IT, HR, and more.
